Quick Fixes

After a squeaky hinge about drove me crazy and I tried to clean under the fridge, I had to find an easier way. I found some quick tips that save time and money...

Silence a squeaky door
Cabinet door squeaky every time you open it driving you crazy? Use cooking spray if you are all out of WD-40. Spray the hinges and let air dry.The oil in the spray will effectively lubricate the hardware, ensuring perfectly smooth, quiet movement.

DIY Shabby Chic Wedding Ideas
Easliy remove stuck on labels from jars
If you love the idea of saving empty jam jars to reuse as drinking glasses or flower vases but the labels and stickiness make them unsightly you end up throwing them away, try this. Peel off as much as possible, then mix two parts vegetable oil with one part baking soda to form a paste and buff on the sticky areas. The oil will dissolve the adhesives bond, and the abrasive baking soda will gently scrub away the residue.

Clever way to clean hard to reach spots
There are plenty of tight spots in a home to clean, the tight space under fridge, dressers or end tables and entertainment centers. A trick that will help you fight away dust and grime: Cover the end of a yard stick with a stray sock that has been dipped in soapy water.  Use a rubber band to secure the sock to yard stick. Use the yardstick slim  arm to clean those tricky spaces.
